A Landmark Exhibition Coming to Washington, D.C.

As part of this international initiative, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities of Jordan has signed an agreement with the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. to host the international exhibition Jordan: The Dawn of Christianity.


The exhibition, scheduled to open in early 2027, will showcase Jordan’s remarkable Christian legacy through a collection of rare artefact and historical treasures that highlight the Kingdom’s important role in the birth and spread of Christianity.


The agreement was signed in Washington, D.C., by Jordan’s Ambassador to the United States, Dina Kawar, on behalf of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and Carlos Campo, President and CEO of the Museum of the Bible.


This prestigious exhibition will provide visitors from around the world with the opportunity to discover Jordan’s spiritual and historical importance beyond its borders, strengthening the Kingdom’s position as a leading destination for Christian pilgrimage and cultural exploration.


Jordan: A Living Land of Biblical Heritage

Bethany Beyond the Jordan – The Baptism Site of Jesus

Recognized as the place where Jesus Christ was baptized by John the Baptist, Bethany Beyond the Jordan is one of Christianity’s most important pilgrimage destinations. Located along the eastern bank of the Jordan River, the site attracts visitors seeking a meaningful spiritual experience.


Mount Nebo – The View of the Promised Land

Overlooking the Dead Sea and the Holy Land, Mount Nebo is traditionally believed to be the place where Moses viewed the Promised Land before his death. The site is famous for its ancient church, remarkable mosaics, and breathtaking views.


Madaba – The City of Mosaics

Known as the “City of Mosaics,” Madaba preserves some of the finest Byzantine artwork in the world, including the famous 6th-century mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land.
