Um Qais  

قيس‎ أم, is known as the Hellenistic-Roman city "Gadara", one of the Ten Cities of the Decapolis. The ruins include two theaters, a paved street, a basilica, and many important buildings, telling of a once great and splendid city. It was largely destroyed by an earthquake around 749 AD.

The strategic position on a high hill allows for panoramic views, you can see the Tiberias Lake , The Galilee and The city of Tiberias, the Yarmouk River, the Golan Heights, and The high mountains bordering Lebanon are visible in the distance on clear days.
